I had the car for about 10 years and used it as a daily driver for 5 of those years with no glitches, even hauling numerous bags of cement, dirt, rocks, and a hell of a lot of concrete blocks. Yeah, I actually used it as a truck. Go figure. It had a mild 302 backed by a T-10 4-speed tranny. Hood scoop was off of a '79 Mustang Turbo, made functional on this car. Old CalCustom hood locks. Roll-on bedliner. Bucket seats out of a '71 Cougar. '70 Torino side mirrors. US mags with knock-offs. The engine swap was pretty much for the same reason I cut the hood to make the scoop functional: an engine fire that happened before I bought the car. The 'Chero is but a memory now. Although a treasured memory, to be sure.
