March 2008

Basic 2001 Explorer Sport Trac 2WD. 4.0 V6, 5-speed auto.

Upgrades:

- K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit which easily added another 10-12 HP to the factory 205 horses
- Slotted/drilled front rotors
- Custom American flag graphics by Weston Signs (http://www.westonsigns.com)
- 4-piece custom billet aluminum grille
- Westin front bumper guard
- Ventshade smoked rain guards
- Brushed aluminum B-pillar appliques
- Altezza carbon fiber-look taillights
- Added some Mirage paint detailing to the interior
- Painted the rear drums and front calipers with high-temp paint, just for looks
- I don't remember the brand of aftermarket wheels I added 2 years ago, just that I needed a set on short notice after I was forced off the freeway at about 70 MPH and struck a 9" concrete divider and BROKE the two original factory rims on the left side of the truck. Never caught the bastard...

I just recently put some fresh meat on the 16's. I also ended up replacing the ball joints, a leftover from that high-speed curbing I enjoyed. I'll be doing some paint enhancements on the wheels in the coming weeks. Keep in mind I'm just an old guy who's just dressing it up a little without going radical.

I also acquired a new Roush hood scoop, originally designed for the Ford Ranger, that will look rather attractive on my Trac. It will be a while before I can install it since I have to buy a second one... my dad like the one I bought so much that I gave it to him and am ordering another. I will also be redoing the graphics a little in the next week or so.

Keep checking back around the end of March and let's see what I've done. Stay tuned!!

And while you're at it, check out the NASCAR Golden Age Society at http://www.nascar-gas.com.
