No trailer queen here..... this car was built by me to be a weekend warrior (c:

This car is a blast to drive!!!

Her name is mid-life cruiser. I basically bought this car off the drag strip. It was a mid to low 12 second car in the 1/4 mile. She has a fresh 355 built to scream. She didnt have any inner front fenders, wiring, or interior. She's got a big heavy duty Chrysler 8.75" rear end with a 3 point ladder bar set up, sub frame connectors, solid body bushings, super comp headers and it did have a 8 point roll cage. Both doors had lightweight plastic instead of glass for windows. The engine is a high nickel 4 bolt 350 bored 30 over. Cylinder heads are World Products Sportsman heads. 200cc intake runners, 2.02 & 1.60 Manley stainless street flow , 64cc "fast burn" combustion chamber.

I have since replaced the some of the interior pieces, replaced the complete wiring harness with a "painless" wiring kit. I cut out most of the roll bar, added inner fenders and got it street legal. This was 1999.

I just recently gave her a complete make over in 2006.

The engine was removed as well as the all the suspension. Originally, I did want to remove the sub frame, but I didnt know that the sub frame connectors were welded in, so I was easily persuaded and just left it in. The firewall, sub frame and floors have been sand blasted to bare metal, painted using POR-15 primer and top coated with their BlackCote paint.

I Installed all new upper and lower ball joints, control arm bushings, idler arm, pitman, wheel bearings, brake pads and hoses, power steering conversion, gas shocks, Hotchkis springs, Hotchkis sway bar and Hotchkis tie rod sleeves. New brake lines, tranny lines and fuel lines were custom bent and installed.

I purchased an electric die grinder, rouge compounds and some polishing wheels, cones and felt bobs and buffed up all my wheels along with some aluminum and chrome parts. Polishing these parts all up really made a big differance.

The engine compartment was detailed, new heavy duty aluminum radiator, Holley 670 street avenger carb, Optima red top battery, milled aluminum valve covers, K&N Xtream air cleaner, new hoses and other dress up stuff. A new fuel tank and sending unit have also been installed.

New chrome bumpers were installed as well as lots of other chrome trim. The aftermarket industry is great for these Camaros and the prices are reasonable.

..... more to come .....
