Nascar Golden Age Society

I would like to invite you to a venture I have taken with my good friend Don Falloon, aka 'Fireball'.
Together we have embarked on an idea that people do enjoy a good story. It is even better when that story involves an idea everyone is familiar with and truly enjoys.
Big Bill France, the consumate promoter of Stock Car Racing had an uncanny idea that people did in fact enjoy sunday afternoons with howling v8 engnes roaring around oval tracks. He even spearheaded an ambitious idea of a 2 1/2 mile tri-oval track to be built in the marshes along the Florida Coastline. Today, Daytona packs hundreds of thousands of screaming fans into two weeks of raw power and speed leading up to the February showcase race, the Daytona 500.
Here is a facinating story all its own. Somewhere along the line we aim to tell it.
We also want to tell lesser known and forgotten stories about how this monster of a fan freindly event came to be. For instance, you may not have known that the Charlotte Speedway was was build by brothers Pat and Harvey Charles, two known Bootleggers. They built the track in the dirt of CC Allison's farm, but never saw the first strictly modified Nascar sanctioned race there because they were convicted on bootlegging charges.
Its stories like these that inspire us, and want to share them with our own brand of humor, and satrical meanderings.
We will be adding drivers, cars and historic moments that added to the colorful history of Stock Car Racing. There will be pictures of events and the original venues as we can research them. In some instances, pictures may not exist, so you as our readers will have to rely on our crack story telling talents to get the feel of our tales.
In time, we will add a store so you can purchace merchandise to show your support of a byegone era.
We also have plans to add a member's area where you can post pictures of your racemobile, and tell the world why you like being a Stock Car Racing Fan.
We hope this will be an enjoyable expirence for you!
