Yesterday, we caught up with Nick, our very first Carster of the Month Contest Winner, and pointed some questions in his direction about winning the Carster contest, and what was new with his Carster car.
Q: What happened to the thousand dollars your scored from Carster?
A: The thousand dollars I won from carster went straight into my project. I bought a set of Power Enterprise 800cc injectors and the rest went into my new catback exhaust which was an exciting upgrade for me
considering I have no real power modifications installed right now. The JIC Ti catback makes a very impressive exhaust note and also weighs little enough to pick up with one hand.
Q: So if I can ask, how much do you have into your car?
A: This is a scary question, I tend to space out and not tell people the real answer because I'm too afraid to find out myself. So let's just say more than I'd like to spend.
Q: You have continually talked about not having any power modifications yet, so what is up with your power modification install?
A: I've been holding off on getting my power modifications installed because I'm looking to collect and pay for all my power modifications before a master install. As of now I've been buying parts for a year and
only have turbo back exhaust. No engine management, my turbo, front mount intercooler, 800cc injectors are all sitting in my room. I want to save on man hours so I've been collecting all my modifications and will be
installing them all at once.
Q: What do you want to do with this car once it's finished?
A: I ask myself this every other day. I know of plenty WRX/STI owners that track their car, take it to shows and manage to drag on the quarter mile while having it be their daily driver. Of that list, all my car
is
right now is my daily driver. I think I'd like to make a couple track days sooner or later. My highest goal would to make it a winning show car, I'd enjoy that the most.
Q: So what is next or current in your quest for this show car?
A: My next install is my new set of Sparco one piece reinforced fiber glass race seats, my Sparco harness bar, harnesses, and Sparco wheel/quick release hub.
Q: If percentages were the progress of your car what do you think it would be at right now?
A: 60%
Nick, great work on your 2004 WRX. It looks great as usual and sounds like your project is rolling perfect. We look forward to new pictures of the greatness to come on your car!
